XM, one of leading IP video surveillance solution provider, the company used to provide HD analog cameras, HD IP cameras, DVRs and NVRs modules to allow small factories to assemble the final products. However, since the shrink of market share, the company now produce and supply final products to end-users. The company owns XM (or Xiongmai) and Jufeng two brands. Here we are going to disassemble a 1.3MP light bulb panoramic camera.

As usual, the camera it's a light bulb, has Edison E27 standard screw, so that it can be directly mount to light socket. The camera lens is in the bottom, so that can cover the entire room and provide 360 degree view. It supports memory card recording, we can find the microSD card slot next to LED window.

The camera has a reset button design, if you encounter any problem to setup this cam, you may reset the camera.

The camera is simply assembled, we can find two major PCB boards; a AC/DC power converter, a camera module.

Here is the light bulb parts, three LED lights, can illuminate cold white light (5000Lux).

LED lights get the power directly from the AC/DC converting board which has a LED controlling IC.

This is the camera module, it utilizes XM's own SoC - IPC510, which has the capability of handling 25fps HD video up to 1.3-megapixel/960p resolution. The camera as you can find has a microUSB port.

Here it's the front view of camera module, a fisheye lens sits on PCB board, a IR-CUT filter is between them. A microSD memory card slot has a QR code, I believe it's a cloud ID, which helps users to access camera through XM P2P service easily from anywhere, anytime.

The camera has built-in microphone and speaker, definitely it supports 2-way audio.

Here it's the Wi-Fi module, which using SV6051P chip. This Wi-Fi chip features SDIO 1.1/2.0 interface and supports IEEE802.11b/g/n standard, operating frequency 2.4GHz, with Rx sensitivity -94dBm, power supply uses DC 3.3V, wireless data rate 802.11b: 1,2,5.5,11Mbps, 802.11g: 6,9,12,18,24,36,48, 54Mbps, 802.11n: MCS0-7, HT20 reach up to 72.2Mbps.

In summary, this is a cheap panoramic camera which delivers HD resolution video. Frankly speaking, 1.3MP resolution is inadequate to panoramic view. Additionally, it doesn't have RF module to support security sensors. Users can buy similar light bulb panoramic camera from yoosee, the camera can support wireless security sensors. Therefore you can let it automatically turn on light when sensor is triggered.
