Not strictly true. There are some workarounds but they are a bit of a kludge. There is some integration with Home Assistant and I believe Tuya are working on an update that provides local control rather than the cloud. Also some devices can be integrated into Samsung SmartThings but mainly zigbee devices and then they need someone to write a “handler” DTH to work.
I wish all smart home manufacturers would agree on a common standard rather than proprietary network protocols. We’re at the same juncture as VHS v Betamax.
