Try the H.264/H.265 video player, it can play video and audio. It seems VLC can not play the G.711 audio. Anyway, just wait others to answer your question.

When using the VLC to play RTSP stream of cameras, we can know its codec information.

Video stream:
Codec: H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (h264)
Resolution: 1280x738
Display resolution: 1280x720
Decoded format: 4:2:0 YUV

Audio stream:
Codec: PCM ALAW (alaw)
Channels: Mono
Sample rate: 8000Hz
Bits per sample: 16

We tried to tweak preferences settings of VLC player in hope to play the H.264 files, VLC failed to play the h264 video with audio. However, the VLC is able to play the H.264 video + PCM ALAW audio stream via RTSP protocol (actually using RTP protocol).
