Custom icons

This discussion / discontent has been going for 3+ years since Tuya/Smart Life decided to abandon custom icons. The problems with that decision are well documented and the excuse from Tuya that it’s a data protection issue is ‘odd’. What is equally annoying is that some of the icons users are forced to use, apart from being illegible, is that they are sometimes wrong. The sockets, for example, have an icon from a European country, not the UK style of socket.

If Tuya won’t allow custom icons, then why don’t they include their own within the app? Anything would be better than what we currently have.

Oh that’s interesting. Which apps can you use as an alternative to SmartLife which offer customisable icons and work with hardware that is SmartLife compliant?

AFAIK it is just OEM App, primary targeted to "security" - so with slightly different "dashboard" - cameras and alarms at first. But it works as a original SmartLife/Tuya app
