Tuya no longer supports custom icons for smart plugs and other IOT devices

One of my outdoor smart plugs failed. After installing a replacement, I discovered today that there is no longer an option to create a custom icon for the plug. This is bad for usability. A small phone screen full of the same repeated generic image of a plug does not help me easily find a specific lamp or my outdoor waterfall. There is nothing more frustrating than when devs decide to deprecate or drop a feature without actually consulting clients or understanding the use case.

Here are some visual examples. Since this feature has been disabled, there is no longer an option for custom icons so if you are replacing a bad smart plug, you are forced to use the generic icon. Please re-enable this feature for the sake of usability. The images are small enough that the required cloud storage should not be significant. Privacy concerns are minimal because these are private cloud accounts. If you have legal concerns, amend your EULA to wave liability for any data breach that results in unauthorized use of personal icons.

Discovered this as well. Wanted to change the use of the plug. I was warned that I could only change the icon to the default one. I found this hard to believe, but it's actually true. Bummer

Having the posibility to choose custom icon is great. It's really important to help the app being easy to use. But I rather recommend (to Tuya) create a wide set of professional looking icons, one design, and give the users option to use them. This forum can give lot of ideas what icons we need. I have seen this on Fibaro or Homey and it looks great! Much better than having each icon of different design. This can also save the cloud space and improve app response speed.

I have also discovered that the icons can no longer be customized. If this does not change, we have to look for an alternative. Tuya thus becomes a confusing mess where it is no longer possible to work with.

I can see no improvements since then. No custom icons list to choose from, no possibility to differentiate scenes by color (at least) or sorting them in files.
