Night vision function not working

Is it normal that the night vision only works when your viewing it from the app? Or it should be switching to automatic when it gets dark? Eventhough your not viewing. Im asking the question because if its not automatic then the video it will capture and recorded in the sd card will be dark the whole time

Try buying an IR LED illuminator light to help your camera to see in the dark. Perhaps your IR LED camera became spoilt and need external assist such as using the IR LED illuminator
