Question.. I want to use Watchdog [Web Server Monitor] to run on another computer (not the BI server) thats on the same LAN as the BI Server that will essentially make sure the BI server computer is powered/running.. however, it seems the E-mail alerts fire only after the BI app is executed (and I don't have a BI app to execute on the 2nd computer).. is there a way to cheat BI Tools to sending me an alert e-mail when my BI server web server IP fails without requiring a BI app executable on the 2nd machine?
further explanation on my thought process.. if BI server goes offline (powered off) - then BI Tools running on the same system as BI itself will not send me e-mail alerts... so I want to harness a 2nd computer to be the "watchdog"..
