Micro sd card suddenly not recognized

Hi I've been able to use the camera fine till after the last firmware update. Now it doesn't recognize the same card that's been in there this whole time. I took the card out to copy the videos. (When it filed up with videos it never automatically rewrote over the old ones. ) Now after resetting everything all over again and formatting the card fat32, it keeps failing when in the camera. It won't recognize to format in the camera either. Why is this happening now when it's been working fine before? (Except the overwrite feature never worked)-;
