Hi, I have a client lives in a remote/rural area, I wanna to know if Yoosee Wi-Fi cameras can still work without Internet? If it supports, please tell me how it works.
If you purchased the Yoosee Wi-Fi cameras in 2017, likely your Yoosee Wi-Fi cameras can support standalone/AP mode. When the Wi-Fi cameras work on this mode, users can use smartphone or tablets directly access the camera. This allows it can be accessible without router or Internet connection. This feature makes camera can be worked as a standalone wireless camera, you can use it as a dashcam, outdoor wild camera, any video capturing applications in rural area.
Why only cameras produced in 2017 support the ap mode? The reason is old Yoosee cameras adopt MT7601 Wi-Fi module, 2017 produced cameras adopt RTL8188 Wi-Fi module can support it.

Hi, I'm trying to use the camera without WiFi as my network will only be setup in a month or so and I want protection in the meantime. However, I don't see any way of doing that. Even connecting the camera to my macbook directly doesn't do it as it suggests to connect the camera to a router (I don't know what's the point of a cable connection to a router TBH). How can I go about this now? Thanks, Paul
